Frequently Asked Questions
How can you replace my missing teeth?

There is no reason to put up with the discomfort and inconvenience of missing teeth. At the Tanglewood Center for Aesthetic Dentistry we can create precision-fit bridges, implants, and dentures right in our very own lab. Our Master Ceramist's impeccable craftsmanship will ensure superior results. And the time saved by not having to use an outside source means faster results, too.
What is gum recontouring?
If your smile shows more gum than tooth, Dr. Wolfson can change that with a simple procedure called gum recontouring. Using a topical anesthetic for numbing, and a small laser to quickly reshape the gum line, he can create a more beautiful smile in just one visit. The laser even seals the gum so the healing process begins immediately.
What are dental implants?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root placed into your bone to hold a replacement tooth, bridge or denture in place. Dental implants are an ideal option for anyone in good general health who has lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, injury or decay.
What is bonding?
Bonding is a method of restoring decayed teeth, making aesthetic improvements, changing the color of teeth or reshaping teeth with a composite resin filling. First, a thin coating of a plastic material is applied on the front surface of the teeth. A bonding material is applied, sculpted and colored to provide an attractive, natural-looking result.
What are dental bridges?
A dental bridge is a custom-made false tooth or teeth permanently placed between two healthy teeth to fill in a space. The bridge is held in place by porcelain crowns placed on the healthy teeth on either side of it. Our bridges are completely metal-free so they absorb light, creating a natural-looking smile. Bridges made of porcelain on metal actually reflect light, creating an "unnatural" look for the tooth or teeth. Bridges reduce the risk of gum disease, help correct some bite problems and help improve speech.
