On Site Dental Lab
At the Tanglewood Center for Aesthetic Dentistry, we insist on having our own on-site dental laboratory. Our Master Ceramist was trained at LVI and has completed thousands of restorations (i.e. implants, veneers, etc.), for many of Houston's celebrities and Radio and TV personalities. This obviously gives us a huge advantage when it comes to quality, but beyond that it means our restorations can be created more quickly than if we had to deal with an outside lab. In many cases, we can create a new smile for you in just one day, while carefully controlling every stage in the process. We also will use DaVinci and Micro MAC labs, as needed.
Dentures
A denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth and adjacent tissues. Made of resin and porcelain, complete dentures are used to replace all the teeth. When some healthy teeth remain, a partial denture can be used. A partial denture also keeps the remaining healthy teeth from shifting positions in the mouth. Dr. Wolfson and his Master Ceramist offer precision-fit dentures that do more than replace the teeth. They also provide the most optimum position for your jaw and bite. The results are attractive, secure dentures that allow you to speak, eat and smile with comfort and confidence.
Bridges
A dental bridge is a custom-made replacement tooth or teeth permanently placed between two healthy teeth. The bridge is held in place by porcelain crowns set on the healthy teeth on either side of the space to be filled. Bridges reduce the risk of gum disease, help correct some bite problems and help improve speech.
Crowns
A crown, also called a cap, is a custom-made restoration that completely covers the tooth. A crown is used to repair and strengthen a tooth that has fractured, has a large cavity, has an old filling that has failed, or has had root canal therapy. Dr. Wolfson's crowns are made strictly of porcelain, giving them better strength and endurance than even the original tooth. Crowns can also be used for cosmetic purposes, enhancing the appearance of a tooth that is discolored or misshapen.
